Hello

This is Sam. He’s pretty good most of the time, but sometimes he’s a jerk. He likes his squeaky carrot toy and long walks in the park.

Haikus for Sam was originally an Instagram account (@haikusforsam). I started it during lockdown in 2020. We walked A LOT during that time, and I would compose haikus in my head as we walked, and then pair the haiku with a photo from the walk or another photo of Sam that fit the vibe. It was a fun, low-stakes way to feel like I was keeping a habit and being creative while dealing with the stress and uncertainty of not working during covid.

I stopped using Instagram for a while and fell out of the habit, but recently decided to continue the project here!
