Contrasting the sky
with bright bursts of orange and gold
Autumn at its peak
October 30, 2020
Seize the waning day
Grateful for the here and now
Bright eyes, soft evening
How polite you are,
Making a good impression
If only they knew
Through simple pleasures
I live vicariously
Sharing the moment
Wishing for a thing
Even believing in it
does not make it so
Your eyes, a mirror
Reflecting parts of myself
I wish I could see
How far you have come
and far you have yet to go -
But I know you can
Contrasting the sky
with bright bursts of orange and gold
Autumn at its peak
Regaining the trust
Requires moving forward
But do not forget
Seize the waning day
Grateful for the here and now
Bright eyes, soft evening
Of what does one dream
When one is living the dream
In the waking world?
Seeker of comfort
The joy of simple pleasure
All I need is here
Ray of morning light
Soft blanket and soft puppy
Total contentment
Bow your legs in play
Look around for squeaky toy
LIttle curly tail
Trusting of safety
When once you were uncertain
of what lay ahead
